SAXONY!visit – A Business Trip to Saxony: Lightweigth Technologies and Related Sectors

Saxony Trade & Invest (WFS) invites experts, decision-makers, and managers to join on a business trip through Saxony.

Numerous players are active in Saxony along the entire value chain for lightweight construction and related innovative fields. Saxony's players have outstanding expertise in the field of efficient material mix. They offer the necessary expertise from materials development to the production of components and quality testing. Saxony is an international leader in various areas of materials research and development. You'll have the unique chance to explore Saxony’s innovation ecosystem. 

By attending also the Saxon Innovation Summit 2026 & the 29th International Dresden Lightweight Engineering Symposium in June 2026, participants can meet partners, establish collaborations, and exchange expertise on the latest technologies.

The 3-day agenda will include: 

• Attendance of 2 main innovation events with pitch options
• Discussions and lots of networking possibilities with experts and company representatives about innovations in the lightweight industry and related fields
• Presentations showcasing the competencies and business opportunities in Saxony
• Cultural highlights
• Company visits

To meet the needs of participants from abroad and from Saxony, WFS kindly asks everyone to register and / or submit ideas for cooperation beforehand, which could then be discussed during the trip.

The size of the business delegation might range from 8 to 20 participants as an internationally group (Poland, Baltic states). The main project language will be English.

HOTEL

• Participants are required to organize their own travel to and from Dresden (Saxony, Germany).
• The hotel charges and, if relevant, cancellation fees are the responsibility of the attendee.
• Other events are taking place at the same time. An early booking will be neccassary.
• Please ask the organizer for hotel recommendations.

COSTS

Participation in the "SAXONY!visit Project" is free of charge but requires prior registration.

The following project costs are covered within the project:

• Project management in Saxony
• Transfers in Saxony / company visits
• Optional: Translation assistance
• Special promo tickets for one-day conference attendance at the Saxon Innovation Summit
• Special promo tickets for one-day conference attendance at the 29th International Dresden Lightweight Engineering Symposium 

The following costs are not included and need to be financed by the participants:

• Travel expenses to / from Saxony
• Accommodation costs in Saxony and short-term cancellation fee's for hotels or flights
• Costs for the preparation of your company presentation / marketing material
• Second day and full attendance of 29th International Dresden Lightweight Engineering Symposium as guest
• Individual visits to tourist sites
• Individual appointments

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Only B2B contacts can be accepted. Upon registration, each participant can specifiy interests and needs for cooperation. Please advise your travel details as well (use the “Message to the orgainzer" field). Your application needs to be confirmed prior to the event either by the Saxony Trade & Invest Corporation or by the project partner. The number of participants is limited.

• Participants are required to organize their own travel to and from Saxony (Dresden).
• When registering for the event, you accept the General Terms and Conditions of Participation for Events issued by the Saxony Trade & Invest Corporation (WFS). The project is organized in cooperation with the German-Polish Chamber of Commerce (AHK Poland), the Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology (ILK) at Dresden University of Technology, and the futureSax innovation network. Registration data will be shared with those partners for organizational matters.
• With your registration for this event, you agree that the Saxony Trade & Invest Corporation may also take photographs and videos during the event and publish them in online and offline media.
• The entire event will be in English.
• For the project communication the Saxony Trade & Invest Corporation (WFS) will use social media ( e. g. WhatsApp or similar)

This event is co-financed by tax funds on the basis of the budget approved by the Saxony state parliament. The client in this context is the Saxony State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labor, Energy and Climate Protection, which supports the project. The event is part of a “SAXONY!visit” project. The project is being coordinated by the Saxony Trade & Invest Corporation (WFS).

• 10.00 am: Guided tour (45 - 60 min)
• 11.00 am: Explore the event (around 150 exhibitors) individually
• 04.00 pm: Company pitches (2 min each)
• 06.00 am: Networking
• 09.30 pm: Free time
